Hello all. I’m still around, waiting for radiation to turn me into pure energy or maybe a monster. I’ve got thirteen zaps to go. Though it has been pretty uneventful, I’m getting a little tired of thinking about treatment. Side-effects after twenty zaps are a sunburned boob and achy shoulders. No big whoop but I haven’t been running around flapping my arms as I am wont to do. Other than that, things are normal.

I’m still bald, if anyone is keeping track. I guess I have kind of a veneer of hair on my head but nothing normal yet. I bought another wig on account of it’s getting warmer here and I’m not going to be able to wear knit hats forever. Also, I have to do the Farmer’s Market in a couple of weeks and I want to blend and not answer a lot of questions. My pal Mary suggested that I go bald but dress like a Martian and say things like “People of Earth…!” or “That will be eighteen of your Earth dollars.” That sort of thing. I don’t know…I don’t think I want to risk freaking people in the one place where I can still sell lots of my junk-but it is a funny idea.

Speaking of Martians, I have a bead that is going to go into space on the space shuttle Endeavor on April 19. That’s pretty neat, isn’t it? It’s part of Lori Greenberg’s Beads of Courage program. My bead is a little Martian squid trying to open a jar with a galaxy in it. Because I have no foresight, I did not photograph it before I sent it away, but I have a pic Lori took:

Because I like JC Herrell, I was going to ask that my bead sit next to JC’s  bead for the trip, but, by chance, Lori strung them next to each other. Good thing too–I’d hate to make Lori unwind that whole strand.
